5 Ways to Connect with the Divine Feminine

When it comes to people who inspire me, Julia Guz is at the top of the list. We've known each other since high school, and I've watched her blossom into a powerful and beautiful woman. In our episode together, I wanted to uncover the truth about divine feminine energy. Does being stern make you masculine? Do you have to be gentle all the time? Is it exclusive to women? Let's dive in.

Femininity Isn't Always Gentle

Many people mistakenly believe that embracing femininity means being gentle and sweet, donning dresses and flower hair clips. However, Julia clarifies, “We can do all these things externally, but internally, you actually don’t have a backbone, you don’t know how to communicate or express yourself, you don’t set boundaries properly, so that is not feminine energy.”

To achieve a balanced feminine energy, you need to embrace both its aspects – the gentle kitty cat, and the powerful dragon. Understanding both, allows you to choose which to embody when needed. “After the dragon phase, now you can weave in these elements of compassion and gentleness in a way that is balanced. Because a lot of us are unbalanced.” Julia explains.

Masculine vs. Feminine

Shakti & Shiva

There has been significant backlash against the terms “masculine” and “feminine” energy due to their association with traditional gender roles, which some people may find un-relatable. I get it, but It's important to remember that these principles have been described by various names across different cultures.

In Chinese culture, it’s called Yin and Yang. In Greek philosophy, it’s Eros and Logos. In Hinduism and Tantra, they relate to the divine union of Shakti and Shiva.

Julia elaborates on this cosmic partnership, explaining that Shakti represents the divine feminine energy, often linked with creation, power, and change. Shiva represents the divine masculine, associated with stability, consciousness, and destruction for the sake of renewal. “Shiva was a man of stillness and Shakti is the energy of play. This is the beautiful bond of masculine and feminine.”

7 Feminine Archetypes

There are also feminine archetypes representing the multifaceted nature of the divine feminine. “There are goddesses with different qualities and aspects, but they all represent the Great Mother…We all have them, but the problem is, sometimes we don’t express those aspects. Because we haven’t connected to them or we shun them out.”

1) The Mother: Nurturing, caring, protective, selfless. Focuses on providing care, support, and nourishment to others, often prioritizing the needs of others above her own.

2)The Maiden: Youthful, innocent, pure, full of potential. Represents new beginnings, potential, and the transition from childhood to adulthood.

3) The Lover: Passionate, sensual, affectionate, romantic. Embodies desire, intimacy, and the pursuit of beauty and love.

4) The Sage: Wise, experienced, introspective, guiding. Offers wisdom, guidance, and insight, often serving as a mentor or spiritual leader.

5) The Huntress: Independent, strong, adventurous, assertive. Represents independence, self-sufficiency, and a focus on goals and ambitions.

6)The Queen: Regal, authoritative, commanding, responsible. Symbolizes leadership, responsibility, and the ability to govern and make decisions.

7)The Mystic: Spiritual, introspective, otherworldly, enigmatic. Focuses on spiritual pursuits, inner knowledge, and a connection to the divine or the mysterious.

How to Connect with the Divine Feminine

During the episode, Julia also shared several methods for connecting to your feminine energy:

  1. Getting Creative & Experiencing Play: Julia emphasizes the importance of engaging in creative activities and embracing playfulness. These activities allow you to tap into your inner child and express your true self.

  2. Connecting with Mother Nature: Spending time in nature can be incredibly grounding and nurturing. She suggests that immersing yourself in the natural world helps you reconnect with the earth’s rhythms and your own inner cycles.

  3. Clearing Your Channel to Receive: To fully embrace your feminine energy, it’s crucial to clear any blockages that might hinder your ability to receive. This involves practices like meditation, journaling, and energy work, which help open your heart and mind.

  4. Learning to Accept Your Shadow Parts: Julia talks about the importance of acknowledging and accepting all parts of yourself, including those you might consider your shadow. Embracing these aspects allows for greater self-awareness and healing.

  5. Connecting to Your Physical Body and Sensuality: Finally, Julia highlights the significance of connecting with your physical body and sensuality. This can be achieved through practices like dance, mindful movement, and other activities that make you feel alive and present in your body.
