You Were Never Lost, Just Deeply Hidden.

“These parts of you were never lost, just deeply hidden.”
— Rachael Mrocka

This wisdom settled into my bones after an influx of memories I had lost since childhood resurfaced—right in the middle of the Amazon jungle during an Ayahuasca ceremony. At first, I thought this realization only applied to my own forgotten experiences, but then I understood: this truth is universal. It applies to all of us.

The Truth About Transformation

What I’ve learned along my spiritual journey is that transformation isn’t about "becoming someone new"—it’s about remembering who you’ve always been. It’s a journey of returning to yourself, peeling back the layers of conditioning, fear, and trauma to rediscover the essence of your soul. It’s about un-learning everything you were told you had to be and reclaiming the truth of who you are. It’s about returning Home, to You.

The parts of you that you thought were lost—the laughter, the joy, the light—never actually disappeared. They were just buried, hidden beneath the weight of life’s storms. The more intense the experiences, the deeper they get tucked away.

When Does Healing Happen?

The realization of “remembering” is profound, especially for those who have struggled with anxiety, depression, or C-PTSD. When you experience deep emotional pain, it can feel as if pieces of you have been stolen—fragmented and lost to the darkness. But the truth is, you were never broken. That was only a perception. You have always been whole. Your mind simply did what it needed to do to keep you safe.

And in that moment, sitting in the middle of the Amazon rainforest—the most vibrant, life-giving land on Earth—I felt the safest I had ever been. The grandmother medicine wrapped me in unconditional love, guiding me through the higher realms, while the Shipibo people, guardians of this sacred healing, held space for my journey.

It was then that I understood something deeper: healing happens when the body feels safe. The memories surfaced not just because of the medicine, but because my body had reached a new level of safety—something I had been cultivating for years. It wasn’t just that moment; it was an accumulation of choices I had made to care for myself. The way I stretched, nourished my body, prioritized sleep, drank water, and monitored what I consumed—all of it contributed to this moment of deep release.

5 Ways to Help Your Body Release Trauma and Raise Your Vibration

  • Movement & Breath Work – Trauma is stored in the body. Gentle stretching, yoga, shaking, or deep breathing can help release trapped energy.

  • Nourishing Foods & Hydration – Your nervous system regulates better when you feed it high-vibrational foods and drink enough water.

  • Emotional Expression – Journaling, speaking your truth, or even crying can help move emotions through your system instead of letting them stagnate.

  • Energetic Hygiene – Be mindful of the energy you absorb through social media, news, and the people around you. Your external environment influences your vibration.

  • Inner Child Play & Joy – Reconnect with things that made you feel alive as a child—sing, dance, paint, play. Joy is a powerful healer.

Your Light Has Always Been There

Can you see how this all connects? The parts of you that feel lost are still within you. Your brain buried them, believing that was the safest option at the time. But as you cultivate safety, as you awaken, those lost parts start to resurface.

When you operate in survival mode for so long, you start to identify with it. But there comes a moment when your soul decides it’s time to wake up—to remind you that you are more than your experiences. That’s when the magic happens.

You start to remember. To return. To reconnect with your inner child—the version of you that saw life as an adventure, full of curiosity and play. You rediscover the things that once brought you joy, and you begin to wonder why you ever stopped doing them.

And suddenly, you realize—your light never left. Even in the darkest times, it was still flickering. It was the very thing that guided you out of the rubble and back home to yourself.

You don’t need plant medicine to access this wisdom—though it can help integrate it deeply. You can awaken through the simplicity of life itself: the delicate unfolding of a flower, the warmth of a sunset, the laughter of a child. There is no single "right" path to awakening.

But once you start waking up, there is no stopping it. And yes, it will be disorienting. Confusing. Frustrating. At times, even heartbreaking, as you begin to see the world with new eyes. But that’s why your soul chose to wake up—to bring more light into the world through your unique gifts.

Maybe your purpose is expressed through your art. Or through the way you listen deeply, holding space for others. Maybe it’s in the words you speak, the music you create, or the scientific discoveries you make.

There is no singular way to help the Earth, or the collective ascend. You do it simply by being You. By radiating your unique frequency. By Being your own medicine.

And that, in itself, is enough. Like a ripple in water, one (and every) shift creates waves—everything else will follow.
